    Befriending Services by C3


    After more than a year of lockdowns, social distancing, and restrictions on travel and gatherings, some people have reported high rates of loneliness and poorer well-being in recent months. C3’s telephone-based befriending solution is designed to help charities and local governments reduce loneliness and isolation within their local communities.

    People supported by community care services are often socially isolated and lonely. Befriending organisations have developed services to provide people in this situation with opportunities for social interaction and a sense of being part of a community.

    Befriending involves one person listening to and supporting another person who is going through a challenging experience. Our befriending software allows calls to be scheduled and numbers whitelisted so neither party can access any personal numbers or data. It also allows for call recording or conference facilities to enable group conversations and one-to-one chats.

    As well as voice, users can choose to have online web chats, email, online forms or mobile video to can be shared so communications can be suited to the organisation or audience. Our telephone CONTACT software solution helps match the befrienders and befriended based on shared values and interests for a scheduled telephone call at an agreed time and day.

    Accessing a Befriending phoneline – whether for information and guidance, to get support with food or other essential items, or just for a friendly chat is really important in helping some of our most vulnerable communities cope with loneliness and anxiety associated with the lockdown.

    Not having someone to talk to regularly can be lonely and isolating, particularly if you’re used to sharing your home and time with others. A friendly chat on the phone can make all the difference.
